Every person, all the events of your life are there because you have drawn them there. What you choose to do with them is up to you. – Richard Bach

Its the day before the graduation day at school and there is a group of parents for E’s year that is pulling together a picnic for all the classes. We said that we would most likely go of course but when it comes to the time to go its been pouring down for two hours and its still drizzling, I don’t want to go. You can’t sit down, the weather is cold and the picknick had to be moved underneath a bridge. I met some other parents, looked at them and said to my surprise that we were not going and asking what they were doing. The surprise is that I have been brought up with the concept that there is no such thing as bad weather only incorrectly dressed people. I was also told that if you said that you were going to do something you honour that but I’m tired of always doing what others/society want me to do or expect me to do. I make decisions about what is best for my life and my family, not others. Its a new concept for me and one that doesnt quite sit well with me yet, I guess it takes time to change a lifetime of turning up just because the society exept you to do it. This was a general picknick for a large group of people so me not going was not a huge impact for the group (I know very few of them to be honest) but for me, it was a turning point. I chose me!

Namaste!
